SFB education center
The sfb Education Center for Technology and Management is a higher technical school in Switzerland with six locations in German-speaking Switzerland and one each in French -speaking Switzerland and Ticino .
history
The school was founded on December 16, 1970 by the Employers' Association of the Swiss Machine Industry ASM together with the employee organizations and the SVBF. The background for the training of operational specialists is an initiative of the Association of Calculators and Operational Specialists VKB, founded in 1946 . The VKB is a predecessor of today's Swiss Association for Business Organization and Manufacturing Technology SVBF. When it was founded, the sfb training center was still called the Swiss Technical School for Business Experts SFB .
In 1984 the SFB was federally recognized as a technical school and was henceforth called the Swiss Technical School for Industrial Engineering . In 1996 the merger with the ABW working group for professional development took place while retaining the name SFB. This expanded the SFB's portfolio to include technical training.
It was not until the beginning of May 1998 that the Swiss technical college for industrial engineering became today's sfb training center for technology and management. In the same year, the course was renamed Techniker TS Business Processes while retaining the old recognition . Between 2003 and 2006, centers were set up in Bern, Lucerne and Lausanne. At the same time, the portfolio in the technical area was expanded: in 2005 the course "Technicians in Automation", in 2006 the course "Technicians in System / Software Engineering" and in 2009 the course "Technicians in Energy and Environment" was added.
Dorothea Tiefenauer has been the director of the sfb education center since the beginning of 2019 and is therefore responsible for the sfb school locations Dietikon , Winterthur , Rüti, Zollikofen , Olten , Emmenbrücke and Bellinzona . In Ticino, the sfb education center is called soa centro di formazione in tecnologia e gestione and is headed by Roland Egli, who is also head of the sfb's Lucerne center.
In western Switzerland, the sfb is managed by its own director, Philippe Vaucher, under the name esg center de formation pour la technologie et le management .
organization
The sfb education center is organized as a foundation. In accordance with Article 51 of the collective labor agreement (GAV) for the machine, electrical and metal industries, the contracting parties to the GAV run the “sfb Bildungszentrum” foundation together with other organizations. This foundation also aims to provide training and further education for specialists in the field of applied business administration and related areas. Another purpose is to promote technical professional training and to carry it out yourself. According to the GAV, the events of the “sfb Bildungszentrum” foundation are accessible to all who meet the professional requirements.
