The Sgùrr na Lapaich is a 1150 meter high mountain in the Scottish Highlands . The Gaelic name of the summit classified as Munro means roughly rocky tip of the swamp .

It is part of a extending in the east-west direction of the mountain chain between the southern hole Mullardoch and the north in the Glen Strathfarrar located hole Monar comprises a total of four Munro. The Sgùrr na Lapaich is the fourth highest mountain north of the Great Glen , the highest peak of the chain and, due to its great notch height, a landmark that is visible from the east in a wide radius up to the Moray Firth .

It has several long ridges and a rocky summit structure. It is connected to Munro, the 992 meter high Càrn nan Gobhar , to the southeast , via a ridge that is still rocky and steep in the summit area, then wide and flatter to the 791 meter high saddle of Bealach na Cloiche Duibhe . To the south of this saddle is the small hole Tuill Bhearnach . A ridge runs to the west up to the 820 meter high Bealach Toll on Lochain , which is followed by the 1129 meter high summit of An Riabhachan . The Sgùrr na Lapaich also has steep ridges to the northwest and south. To the south the ridge ends in the 1093 meter high pre-summit of Sgùrr nan Clachan Geala and splits into two ridges to the southeast and south. The latter ends in the 791 meter high Mullach a 'Ghlas-thuil , which towers directly above Loch Mullardoch , to the southeast the ridge is significantly shorter and drops rocky and steeply south of Loch Tuill Bhearnach . There are other small lakes in the steep karen of the summit, such as Loch Mòr in the north-west .

The summit can be reached from the south, where the starting point is the end of the narrow road coming from Cannich at the Loch Mullardoch dam. Most Munro excavators climb the mountain as part of a round trip over all four Munros in the mountain range, starting with the Càrn nan Gobhar and continuing over the southeast ridge of the Sgùrr na Lapaich. On the other hand, the mountain can also be climbed from Glen Strathfarrar to the north, the starting point here is the end of the road east of Loch Monar, the approach leads over the ridge that tapers to the northeast.
