Shōta Imai ( Japanese 今井 昌 太 Imai Shōta ; born July 16, 1984 in Nagano Prefecture ) is a former Japanese football player .

Career

Imai learned to play soccer on the school team at Toko Gakuen High School and the university team at Biwako Seikei Sport College . He signed his first contract with Matsumoto Yamaga FC in 2007 . At the end of the 2009 season, the club rose to the Japan Football League . At the end of the 2011 season, the club rose to the J2 League . In August 2012 he moved to third division club Blaublitz Akita . In 2013 he moved to league competitor MIO Biwako Shiga . In 2014 he moved to third division club Blaublitz Akita. In 2015 he moved to Saurcos Fukui . At the end of 2017 he ended his career as a football player.
