Shuichi Hasegawa

Shūichi Hasegawa ( Japanese 長谷川 修 一 , Hasegawa Shūichi ; born October 1971 in Saitama Prefecture ) is a Japanese writer on the Old Testament .

Life

He earned with the bachelor thesis "The Origin of the Architectural Style of the Solomon Temple" (Japanese; 1993-1997) at the Department of History of Rikkyō University the BA (literature), at the Department of History and Anthropology of the University of Tsukuba with the Master's thesis "Israel and Aram-Damascus" (Japanese) (1997–2000) the MA (literature) and at the Department of Jewish History at Tel Aviv University with the dissertation Aram and Israel during the Jehuite Dynasty (English; 2000–2011) PhD. He taught as an assistant professor of the Hebrew Bible and the Ancient Near East at the Faculty of Humanities at Iwate University (2012-2014) and since 2014 as an assistant professor of the Hebrew Bible and the ancient Middle East at the Department of Christian Studies at Rikkyō University.

From April 2016 to March 2017 he was visiting scholar at Karen Radner's chair with the project of an Empirical Historical Study of the Last Days of the Northern Kingdom of Israel .
