Sha Zukang
Sha Zukang ( Chinese 沙祖康 , Pinyin Shā Zǔkāng ; born September 1947 in Yixing ) is a Chinese diplomat .
A graduate of Nanjing University , Sha began his diplomatic career as a staff officer at the Chinese Embassy in the UK .
He is currently the Chinese ambassador to the UN office in Geneva. In February 2006 he was appointed Under Secretary-General for Economic and Social Affairs.
In a recent interview with the BBC, he said the US should "shut up" if the US criticizes China's military spending as part of Chinese domestic policy. In return, he criticized the United States for claiming that US military spending is half of global military spending.
