The Shaanxi Y-9 or Yunshuji-9 ( Chinese运 -9) is a medium-weight, medium-range transport aircraft produced by the Chinese company Shaanxi Aircraft Corporation .

history

The development of the Y-9 began in September 2005 as a further development of a stretched variant of the Y-8 under the designation Y-8F-600, but was temporarily stopped between 2007 and 2008 due to the higher priority of the Y-8GX. The first flight took place on November 5, 2010. At the end of November 2011, the prototype No. 741 was first spotted in the test center in Xian-Yanglian . China's Air Force and Navy have been equipping the Y-9 since 2012.
