Xian Y-20 ( Chinese 运-20 , Pinyin Yun-20 - "lit .: Transporter 20"), codenamed Kunpeng ( 鲲鹏 , Kunpeng ), refers to a military transport provided by Xi'an Aircraft primarily for the air forces of the People's Republic of China developed has been. In the Chinese aviation industry, the transporter is also known colloquially as the Chubby Girl ( 胖妞 , pàngniū - "fat girl") due to the wide fuselage and the homophony between the characters between " Péng " ( 鹏 ) and " Pàng " ( 胖 ) .

The official first flight took place on January 26, 2013. It is a shoulder -wing aircraft with a T-tail . Under the wings are four turbofan engines of the type Solowjow D-30KP 2- arranged. So far, five prototypes with the CFTE license plates 781, 783, 785, 788 and 789 have been confirmed to fly. The heavy long-range transport aircraft should be able to be used in all weather conditions for military operations, disaster relief and humanitarian aid. Allegedly the maximum takeoff weight is 200 tons and the maximum payload is 60 tons. On June 15, 2016, the PLAAF officially put the first two Y-20s with the registration numbers 11051 and 11052 into service with the 12th Regiment of the 4th Transport Division in Chengdu / Qionglai .
