Enzo Moser

Enzo Moser (born November 5, 1940 in Palù di Giovo , Trentino , † July 25, 2008 there ) was an Italian racing cyclist .

Athletic career

Enzo Moser was a professional from 1962 to 1967. In 1961 he won the Trofeo Alcide Degasperi . His greatest success was winning the first edition of the Giro del Trentino in 1962. In 1963 he finished second in the 19th stage of the Giro d'Italia , and in 1964 he wore the Maglia Rosa for two days . He drove the Giro between 1963 and 1965, his best result was 22nd overall in 1963. After retiring from cycling in 1965, he also worked as a sports director. In 2008 he was killed when he was run over by a tractor while doing farm work. Since 2009 the award at the Giro del Trentino for the most combative driver has been called Premio "Enzo Moser" .

Enzo Moser came from a cycling family: He was the second oldest of four racing driver brothers, the best known (besides Diego Moser) being his youngest brother Francesco and his oldest brother Aldo . Three of his nephews are also cyclists, including Leonardo Moser , who has now ended his career, and his brother Moreno , who has been riding for the Liquigas-Cannondale team since 2012 .
