Shadow Complex is a video game developed by Chair Entertainment in collaboration with Epic Games . The side scroller was published by Microsoft Game Studios as a download title via the Xbox Live arcade platform. Shadow Complex uses the Unreal Engine 3 . When Shadow Complex Remastered a revised version was published in 2015 Windows , 2016 for Xbox One , PlayStation 4 and Mac OS X followed.

Jason and his girlfriend Claire discover an extensive underground building complex in the mountains while hiking. When Claire is kidnapped by soldiers stationed there, Jason penetrates the complex to free her. There he learns about the plan of the secret organization Progressive Restoration to carry out attacks against the USA. They have already murdered the vice-president. With the equipment Jason finds in the complex, he gradually explores it and single-handedly tries to stop the planned attack.

Shadow Complex entered the top 10 most-played XBLA titles of all time shortly after its release . In the first week alone, it was downloaded 200,000 times. IGN named Shadow Complex the best game of 2009, rating it 9.4 out of 10.
