Shang time site of Zhengzhou

The Shang site of Zhengzhou ( Chinese  郑州 商代 遗址 , Pinyin Zhèngzhōu Shāngdài yízhǐ , English Shang site from Zhengzhou / Zhengzhou Shang Dynasty Ruins ) in the Chinese province of Henan is the largest and best preserved Shang capital. The site was discovered in 1952. It is located in the area of ​​today's Zhengzhou City and its suburbs.

Their area covered 25 square kilometers. The circumference of the Shanghai city wall was 7 km. Remains of large buildings were found inside the city wall, outside bronze casting workshops, pottery etc. a. as well as graves of the nobility and common people discovered.

It is believed by many researchers to be the capital Bo ( , ), the first capital of the Shang dynasty .

The important bronze finds include a square thing and a tripod jia .

The Shanghai site of Zhengzhou has been on the list of monuments of the People's Republic of China (1-141) since 1961 .
