Shaula Island is an island about 1.5 km east of Achernar Island in the Øygarden archipelago off the coast of the East Antarctic Kempland .

Norwegian cartographers recorded it using aerial photographs taken during the Lars Christensen Expedition in 1936/37 . The first landing was made in 1954 by the team around the Australian geodesist Robert George Dovers (1921-1981) as part of the Australian National Antarctic Research Expeditions . Its members named the island after the star Shaula , which served as a fixed point for surveying work in the area.
