Shaw Professor of Chinese

The Shaw Professor of Chinese position is one of the permanent professorships at the University of Oxford , England. She was founded in 1876 as a professor of Chinese and is now linked to a professorship at University College Oxford. The chair is part of the Faculty of Oriental Studies. After Run Run Shaw made a donation of £ 3,000,000 to the university in 1993 for the development of Chinese studies, part of which was used to equip the chair, the chair was renamed the Shaw Professorship.
