Miguel de Bulhões e Souza OP (born April 13, 1706 in Verdemilho , Portugal ; † September 14, 1779 ) was a Portuguese religious and Roman Catholic bishop of Leiria .

Life

Miguel de Bulhões e Souza joined the religious order of the Dominicans in and put on 24 November 1723 professed from. He was born on March 4, 1730 for a deacon ordained and received on 12 March of the same year, the sacrament of Holy Orders .

On March 28, 1746, Pope Benedict XIV appointed him Bishop of Malacca . The Patriarch of Lisbon , Tomás de Almeida , donated him episcopal ordination on June 29 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the auxiliary bishop in Lisbon, José Dantas Barbosa , and the bishop emeritus of São Sebastião do Rio de Janeiro , João da Cruz Salgado de Castilho OCD .

On February 19, 1748 Benedict XIV appointed him coadjutor bishop of Belém do Pará . Miguel de Bulhões e Souza became bishop of Belém do Pará on May 18, 1748, succeeding the resigned Guilherme de São José Antonio de Aranha . On March 24, 1760 Pope Clement XIII appointed him . to the Bishop of Leiria.
