Sheila Jozi (* 1984 ), usually only Sheila , is a German folk music - and pop performer Persian descent.

Career

In 2002, at the age of 17, the Dortmund woman was one of the three winners of a talent competition “Become a Grand Prix Star!” Organized by the Bild newspaper , from which music producer Dieter Bohlen selected a participant for the German preliminary round of the Eurovision Song Contest during test recordings . She had her first major appearance in 2003 at the Grand Prix of Folk Music Competition in 2003 , for which she qualified in the German preliminary decision with the title Game Quietly the Balalaika . With the 8th place in the final, which was broadcast to different countries, the singer, who now appears under her first name, achieved the second-best German placement in the competition. Her first and so far only album was released in 2004 with Emotions , which was written and produced by the well-known producer Jean Frankfurter . Sheila Jozi u. a. 2005 as part of the Krone der Volksmusik , which in that year was among the ten most watched television programs on German television with 7.32 million viewers and a 22.9 percent market share. In addition, the song appeared on recordings compilations to folk music shows in which she was seen; Krone der Volksmusik 2005 was in the top ten of the German, Austrian and Swiss charts. Even after her first appearances on German television, SHEILA was referred to in media reports as "Britney Spears of folk music" due to her open-hearted clothing style and was also the subject of gossip columns.
