Shen Xiaoming
Shen Xiaoming (Chinese: 沈 晓明; born May 1963 in Shangyu , Zhejiang Province ) is a Chinese politician and has been the governor of Hainan since 2017 . A trained pediatrician, Shen rose through the ranks of the health and education bureaucracy in Shanghai . He was there u. a. Pudong Party Leader and Deputy Minister of Education.
Life
Shen was born in Shangyu County, Zhejiang Province. He attended Wenzhou Medical College and completed a degree in pediatrics . He then went to Shanghai Jiaotong University and did a doctorate in paediatrics. After graduating, he became the deputy director and then director of Xinhua Hospital , then president of Shanghai Second Medical University, and later vice president of Shanghai Jiaotong University. He then joined the Shanghai Education and Health Commission.
In January 2008, he was appointed Vice Mayor of Shanghai. He was named Pudong Party leader in May 2013 and joined the city's standing committee two months later. On April 8, 2015, he replaced Ai Baojun as chief administrator of the Shanghai Free Trade Zone. In October 2016, Shen was appointed Shanghai's Deputy Minister of Education.
Shen was named governor of Hainan, southern China, in April 2017. On January 25, 2018, he was re-elected by the Hainan Province People's Congress.
