Sheopur is a city in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh . The city is located in the north of the state near the border with Uttar Pradesh .
The city is the administrative seat of the Sheopur district of the same name . Sheopur has the status of a Municipal Council . The city is divided into 23 wards . It had 68,820 inhabitants on the cut-off date of the 2011 census.
Sheopur Railway Station connects the city with the rest of the country. The station is part of the North Central Railway Zone of the Indian Railways .
