Sherman Williams (musician)

Sherman Williams was an American rhythm and blues musician ( saxophone ) and band leader .

Live and act

Williams performed in the Nashville area in the 1940s with his own jump blues and swing band, for which Louis Jordan's Tympany Five, Jack McVeas Door Openers and Roy Milton's Solid Senders were musical role models. Recordings were made in Nashville in 1947 for Bullet Records , also for Foto Records in Los Angeles (1947), Excelsior and Gold Star Records (1948) and for Plymouth Records in 1949. In 1952 Williams founded his own label, Unique Records , on which he The Bounce (Parts 1 & 2) with West Coast vocal group Four Flames. In 1956, Williams recorded for Flip Records.
