Shigenobu Nakamura
Shigenobu Nakamura ( Japanese 中 村 滋 延 , Nakamura Shigenobu ; * 1950 in Osaka , Osaka Prefecture ) is a Japanese composer .
Life
Shigenobu Nakamura studied at the Aichi Prefectural University of Fine Arts and Music on the main island of Honshū and at the National Music Conservatory in Munich .
He has written more than 100 works for a variety of genres to date, including 10 orchestral works and five symphonies. In the late 1980s he enthusiastically focused on creating theatrical and incidental music using the computer. Some of these compositions have received international awards, for example from the ICMC of the University of Singapore (1992, 1995, 1996, 1997, 2003) and the Center for Art and Media Technology - ZKM - in Karlsruhe (1998). His visual works have also received awards, including the International Video Art Prize in Germany (1995 and 1996), the "l'immagine leggera" Palermo International Video Art Festival Italy 1997.
In 1997 and 1998 he was an artist at the Center for Art and Media Technology - ZKM - in Karlsruhe . Shigenobu Nakamura is also professor at the Kyōto College of Arts and at the Institute for Acoustic Design at Kyushu University .
