Shihomi Shin'ya ( Japanese 新 谷 志 保 美 , Shin'ya Shihomi ; born August 10, 1979 in Miyada , Kamiina County , Nagano Prefecture ) is a Japanese speed skater .

The sprint specialist Shin'ya has been taking part in international competitions (World Cup, World Championships, Asian Championships) over 100, 500 and 1,000 m since 2002/03. She achieved her greatest successes to date in the 2003/04 season with a 3rd place in the 500 m World Cup and first place in the 100 m. In 2003 she was third, in 2007 fourth at the World Sprint Quadruple Championship. She studied sport at the University of Tsukuba , lives in the Olympic city of Nagano and is a member of the professional team of Takemura Seisakujo KK.
