Shijing (Northern Wei Dynasty)

The Book of Food ( Chinese食 经Shíjīng ) by Ms. Lu (卢氏Lú shì ) from the time of the Northern Wei Dynasty is also known as Cui Hao shijing (崔浩 食 经 "Cui Hao's Book of Food") Plant.

The book as a whole is lost, its foreword has been preserved. The Qimin yaoshu often quotes from it without naming the author (i.e. the mother of Cui Hao) or the author. The biography of Cui Hao († 450), a chancellor of the Northern Wei Dynasty, is included in the history of the Wei Dynasty ( Weishu魏书).

It is an important source for the history of Chinese food and drink culture.

The book is to be distinguished from the book of the same name ( Chinese食 经Shíjīng ) by Xiè Fěng (谢 讽) from the Sui dynasty , also known as Xie Feng shijing (谢 讽 食 经 "Xie Feng's Book of Food") known work.

The title of both works is often translated as Food Canon in English.
