Work at Atari

When Jack Tramiel and a number of former Commodore developers took over Atari Corporation in 1984 , the company was in poor shape. Shiraz Shivji became Atari's Vice President for Development and Research when he and a team of six engineers developed the Atari ST .

The work was completed in an astonishingly short time of just five months (from July to December 1984). The presentation of the prototype at the CES in January 1985 was a considerable success and thus secured Atari's future for the time being.

Shivji designed the Atari ST as the first in a range of models. Later he led the development of the Atari TT until the end of his work at Atari.

Work at Momenta

After leaving Atari in 1991, he developed the Momenta Pen Computer. This was one of the first tablet computers with hardware that was powerful for the time. However, he suffered from a lack of suitable software for his DOS-based GUI.
