Coordinates: 30 ° 57 ′ S , 121 ° 10 ′ E The Shire of Coolgardie is a local government area (LGA) in the Australian state of Western Australia . The area is 30,400 km² and has around 3600 inhabitants (2016).
Coolgardie is located in the south of the state about 520 kilometers east of the capital Perth . The headquarters of the Shire Council is in the village of Coolgardie , which has less than 900 inhabitants (2016).

The Coolgardie Council has eight members. They are elected by all residents of the Shire. Coolgardie is not divided into districts. The chairman of the council (Shire President) is also recruited from among the councilors.
