Coordinates: 30 ° 49 ′ S , 117 ° 29 ′ E The Shire of Koorda is a local government area (LGA) in the Australian state of Western Australia . The area is 2836 km² and has about 400 inhabitants (2016).
Koorda is located in the western Australian "wheat belt" in the southeast of the state about 200 kilometers northeast of the capital Perth . The headquarters of the Shire Council is in the town of Koorda, where about 270 inhabitants live (2016).

The Koorda Council has eight members. They are elected by residents of the three wards (four from the Town Ward, two each from the North and South Ward). The Council Chairman and Shire President are also recruited from among the Councilor.
