The Shom rock is about washed up from the sea cliffs in the Gerlache Strait before the Danco Coast of Graham Lands on the Antarctic Peninsula . It is north of Emma Island .
Determined its exact position, the crew of the sailing ship Xplore Expeditions in cooperation with scientists of the S ervice h ydrographique et o céanographique de la M arine (SHOM, French hydrographer office, see International Hydrographic Organization ). The latter has also given the rock its name since 2013.
