Short drink
The short drink is a mixed drink with a volume of typically 5 to a maximum of 7 cl, in exceptional cases up to a maximum of 10 cl. Most classic cocktails are short drinks. There are four typical directions:
- Classic, strongly alcoholic short drinks
- Dessert cocktails
- Champagne, prosecco and sparkling wine mixes
- Short
The first group is often based on vodka , gin or whiskey , and the addition of vermouth is very common . This includes in particular the aperitifs and the stronger digestifs . They are often lengthened with ice or soda . If the amount of liquid is increased significantly, a long drink is created - with the same absolute but lower relative alcohol content .
The second group includes the “less alcoholic” digestifs as well as flips and eggnogs .
In contrast, a so-called short (also known as shooter or shot) usually only has 2 to 4 cl. Short ones are still a recent fad in the history of mixed drinks and are usually drunk in connection with a ritual in one go.
