Show chance

Under the name Show-Chance , television talent competitions ran from 1967 to 1973, initially organized individually on ZDF and then (1969) in cooperation with ORF , SRG and ZDF . Initially, young musicians and entertainers were wanted, from 1969 only singers and bands. The show also offered more demanding and critical German-speaking songwriters and groups a chance, the most successful participants in this show in 1970 were the hit duo Nina & Mike . After appearing on that show, the two received a recording deal from Jack White. They then became known with the hits Fahrende Musikanten and the German version ofPaloma Blanca .

The artists appearing in the competition included Erich Demmer , Die Milestones (winner of the International Show Chance 1969), Heinrich Walcher , Waterloo & Robinson , Wilfried and the Worried Men Skiffle Group .

From 1980 to 1990 and since 2011, ORF has been showing a similar format with the title The Big Chance .
