The Shrove Point ( English for Shrove Tuesday tip ) is a headland at the southeastern end of Candlemas Iceland in the archipelago of the South Sandwich Islands .
Scientists from the British Discovery Investigations named it so because they had done their mapping on a Shrove Tuesday , specifically on March 4, 1930.
