The Shuroobod Bridge is a road bridge over the Punj between Afghanistan and Tajikistan . It connects the Shuroobod district in the Tajik province of Chatlon and the Khvahan district of the Afghan province of Badachschan . The bridge is about 3 km above the confluence of the Obinisu. It should improve the development of the previously inaccessible north of Badachschan.

The 162 m long and 3.5 m wide suspension bridge can be used by pedestrians and vehicles weighing up to 30 t.

It is the fifth of five bridges over the Pandsch so far, the construction of which was initiated and financed by the Aga Khan Development Network , with KfW also providing funds. The foundation stone was laid on October 31, 2011 by Karim Aga Khan IV , Tajikistan's President Emomalij Rahmon and Abdulkudus Hamidi, Afghanistan's building minister, in the presence of Rüdiger König , the German ambassador to Afghanistan.

The bridge project, which cost US $ 3.57 million, also includes a small market on the Tajik side built with KfW funds , open every Saturday, to which Afghan traders have access without a visa and which is used to supply the population on both sides Sides of the river to be improved.
