The electric railcar of the Sihl Valley Railway (SiTB) delivered in 1955 was designated as CFe 4/4 . It was designed as a shuttle vehicle with only one driver's cab and therefore operates with a control car .

Technical

It was the first “modern” railcar on the Sihl Valley Railway. Structurally, it was based on the "blue arrows" (ABDe 4/8) of the BLS. So he owns a roof transformer. However, it was designed as a traction vehicle and control car and not as a double multiple unit. The vehicle was rebuilt in 1973, parts of the electrical equipment were replaced.

The original top speed of 60 km / h could be increased to 70 km / h in 1977.

Until the interpreter control system was installed in 1981, it was mandatory to use control car no. 51.

The designation CFe 4/4 changed to BFe 4/4 in 1956 and to BDe 4/4 in 1963. He always wore the number 91.

Operational

The railcar always ran as a shuttle train with a control car and possibly an intermediate car (only since 1962, delivery of the B4ü = B 41–46).

Whereabouts

The railcar was scrapped in 1994 and sold to Austria. It was in operation as StLB ET 14 until around 2008. It was scrapped in Fürstenfeld in 2011.
