Safer (military)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A safe is an armed officer or soldier who grants or is willing to give support fire to a colleague or comrade . This function is a precautionary measure against attacks or the escape of a person, the latter with security agencies.

In the military, this is done from a position or behind a barrier. The police use this when checking vehicles or people .

The securer's duties include:

  • Constant observation of a person or an object (building, vehicle, bomb, etc.) and its surroundings.
  • Immediate notification of the supervisor in the event of relevant observations.
  • Immediate encounter of an attack on recognized targets.
  • Keeping the line of fire and the view of the target person or the object clear.
  • In the case of security organs, also maintaining the L-position and changing one's own position if the target person moves, the free field of fire is no longer available or the view is impaired.

The supported person is

  • at the military
  • at security organs
    • busy with the conversation or with a measure (e.g. control).

The purpose is the division of tasks, since a belayer has a clear task and is not distracted.
