safety lock

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Security lock is a term often used as a generic term for various locks with lock cylinders . The Duden defines a security lock as "a particularly secured [door] lock with a cylinder that is rotatably mounted in the housing but is held in place by several pins when closed."

In general, security locks are characterized by several tumblers that have to be opened individually according to the locking code so that the lock bolt can be operated. A cylinder lock only provides significantly increased security if it has sufficient burglary security, unlocking security , scanning security, locking security and key security for the intended purpose . So-called “ burglar-resistant locks” are defined in the DIN standard 18251 in Germany . The Bavarian police recommend the use of cylinder locks of classes four or five, whereby for a security lock with multi-point locks, locks of class three would be sufficient.
