The Sichuan University ( Chinese 四川大學 / 四川大学 , pinyin Szechuan Daxue ) is a major university in Chengdu , the capital of the Chinese province of Sichuan .
history
The university was founded in 1896 and goes back to Jinjiang Shuyuan, founded in Chengdu in 1740, which ultimately has its roots in the year 141. On December 7, 2018, Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier visited the university and gave a speech to around 300 students.
