Siderophage

The histological or cytological detection of siderophages is of diagnostic importance in pathology as an indication of older hemorrhages. They are also found in the lung alveoli as so-called "heart defect cells" in chronic pulmonary congestion, e.g. B. in the context of a chronic left heart failure .
