The Siebel Si 201 was a test aircraft from Siebel Flugzeugwerke for slow flight .

development

The aircraft was developed as a rival design to the Fieseler Fi 156 and the Messerschmitt Bf 163 . The aircraft was an unconventional design with a square glazed cockpit for a maximum of three people and a tubular tail boom. The cockpit was accessed through a door on the right. The slightly swept , braced wings in a shoulder- wing arrangement had Fowler flaps and slotted wings , the engine was above in a nacelle and drove a pusher propeller . The chassis was designed as a rigid normal chassis with a grinding spur.

Only a test sample was made. After Ernst Udet had flown the Si 201, the project was discontinued in favor of the Fi 156.

It is worth mentioning the extensive agreement in the structural design with the Seabird Seeker, which was flown for the first time in 1989 .
