history
The place was founded around 1330 under the name Elberingshausen . The place Siebenstern has been known to have had its current name since 1780. The name for the place may have come from the token of the glass products of the local Beckerschen Glashütte . These were seven oval intentional air pockets in the bottom of the glasses, which have a pearl-like appearance.
economy
Around 1800 a small settlement had formed around the Becker'sche glassworks. The actual place arose in the 1950s after a pressed glassworks settled in 1951. This made Siebenstern an economically important place in the district. After years of economic success, the number of employees was reduced more and more. The bank went bankrupt and the plant was shut down at the end of 2013.
