The Siebert Rock ( Spanish Roca Siebert ; in Argentina Islote Negro , Spanish for Black Island ) is a cliff off the Danco coast of Graham Land on the Antarctic Peninsula . It is located in front of the southwestern extension of the Lemaire Island in the entrance to the Lientur Canal .
Participants of the 6th Chilean Antarctic Expedition (1951–1952) named him after Corvette Captain Ernesto Siebert, engineer on board the transport ship Angamos on this research trip . The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee translated the Chilean designation into English in 1978.
