The Siechenbach is a flowing body of water in the urban area of Wunsiedel , district of Wunsiedel in the Fichtelgebirge (northeast Bavaria). The stream has its origin immediately north of the Kappel forest department , flows off to the east and feeds some ponds in the Schwarzenbachgrund with its water. After 2.8 km it flows into the Röslau river before the Schneckenhammer district . At the Siechenbach, clay deposits were exploited for the production of pottery.
Surname
At the source of the brook there was a special hospital for leprosy sufferers, which is mentioned in a document in a city account from 1427. A chapel was attached to the house and was dedicated to St. Jacob the Elder. The brook name is derived from the infirmary that has existed for about 150 years.
