Settlement houses Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz (Radebeul)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The two residential houses standing one behind the other to the east of Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz are in the Niederlößnitz district of the Saxon city of Radebeul . The settlement houses dating from 1924 are under monument protection and the enclosure is considered an ancillary facility for monument preservation . Just like the “civil servants' residential group” of the nearby Gröba settlement , the residential buildings were built by the Gröba electricity association for its employees.

description

Aligned along the edge of the square, the two-storey apartment building Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz 2/3 with the front building at Alfred-Naumann-Straße 15 forms the eastern boundary of the square. The elongated building stands on an embossed rubble stone base and has a hipped roof with small dormers . The two right house entrances to Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz are combined under a common triangular gable. On the left side of the main view is a semicircular standing bay . The upper floor windows of the simply structured plastered building are supported by a windowsill cornice and framed by folding shutters.

The twin houses Alfred-Naumann-Straße 13 and Heinrich-Zille-Straße 46, which were built by the same client, are located in the second row in the middle of a landscaped green area. The single-storey building has an extended mansard roof , the entrance porch is on the long side to the open space, the gable ends face the two streets. The windows are framed by folding shutters or wine trellises.

The fence consists of embossed sandstone walls with embedded picket fences.

In 2016, a conservation-oriented restoration with necessary energetic refurbishment of the two detached residential buildings, which are owned by the ownership company of the city of Radebeul mbH, will take place. No. 3 could be viewed during the renovation on the day of the open monument.
