Siegfried Bergengruen

Siegfried Bergengruen (born April 16, 1900 in Riga ; † April 16, 1942 ) was a Baltic German journalist and writer . As an author, he used the pseudonyms Quidam and Sigber .

Life

Siegfried Bergengruen worked as a journalist for various Berlin agencies and magazines and published numerous advice articles. In 1930 he was editor of the magazine Der Zeitstufe , in 1932 he was briefly chief editor of Eheglück und Liebesleben. Nature and Life and editor of the weekly newspaper Die Welt ein Roman . As editor-in-chief of the magazine Aufklerung , a monthly magazine for “Sexual- und Lebensreform” (including about nudism and “controversial” films), he is noted for a short time in their imprint ( Magnus Hirschfeld is also named as the publisher ). In 1935/1936 he was editor of the magazine Der Tanz. International journal for dance culture .

Two of his books have been after the war into the German Administration of Public Education in the Soviet occupation zone included published "List of auszusondernden literature" and removed from public libraries, namely the thorny path of the last Tsar (1st Supplement 1947) and men make History (3rd supplement from 1953).
