Siegfried Hofreiter

Siegfried Hofreiter (* 1962 in Regensburg ) is a German agricultural entrepreneur. From 2007 to 2016 he was CEO of KTG Agrar SE. The company filed for bankruptcy in 2016.

The Hofreiter family ran a company in the agricultural sector with leased arable land and poultry farming. This had to file for bankruptcy in 1989 with 30 million DM damage for the creditors. In this context, Siegfried Hofreiter was finally convicted in 2002 for delaying bankruptcy and he was not allowed to take on a managerial position in a corporation for the next five years. During this time, his partner Beatrice Ams was the managing director of KTG Agrar GmbH. However, this allegedly only acted on behalf of Hofreiter. The GmbH was converted into an AG in 2005 and with the end of the sentence in 2007 Hofreiter became CEO and CFO of KTG Agrar AG, which was converted into an SE in 2013 . In 2016, the company ran into financial difficulties after failing to pay loan interest of EUR 18 million. The company filed for bankruptcy on July 5, 2016. Thereupon Hofreiter resigned his position as chairman of the board. At the beginning of September 2016, the Hamburg public prosecutor's office started investigations against Hofreiter for various offenses in connection with the insolvency of KTG Agrar after it became known that he had misrepresented the company's economic situation for years. He was investigated for fraud and bankruptcy delay. At the end of 2018, the proceedings against him and seven other KTG executives were opened before the Hamburg Regional Court .

After KTG's insolvency, he managed new companies again in 2017 with the help of his environment.
