Siegfried Linkwitz

Siegfried Linkwitz (born November 23, 1935 in Bad Oeynhausen ; † September 11, 2018 in Corte Madera ) was a German graduate engineer .

Linkwitz was considered a pioneer in loudspeaker construction. The so-called Linkwitz-Riley filter , which he developed with Russ Riley, was named after him. Linkwitz has published groundbreaking innovations on the subject of dipole loudspeakers . Linkwitz was active in the field of speaker construction. He studied electrical engineering from 1955 to 1961 at the TU Darmstadt and from 1961 to 1962 at Stanford University . He died as a result of longstanding prostate cancer.
