Sieghardt Rometsch

Sieghardt Rometsch (born August 26, 1938 in Leonberg / Warthegau) is a German banker and patron.

Life

Rometsch studied economics at the Universities of Innsbruck, Kiel and Munich. In 1968 he received his doctorate with the topic “Monetary Integration - The Problem of a Monetary Union in the Common Market”. rer. oec. From 1967 to 1977 he worked for Chase Manhattan Bank, most recently as General Manager and Area Director for Central Europe. From 1977 to 1983 he was a member of the board of the Landesgirokasse Stuttgart. From 1983 to 2004 he was personally liable partner of the bank HSBC Trinkaus & Burkhardt AG in Düsseldorf, since 1998 as their spokesman. From June 2004 to June 2015 he was chairman of the company's supervisory board.

In 2004 he founded the Sieghardt Rometsch Foundation from his own resources with the aim of promoting musically gifted people. With the help of the foundation, he set up the Aeolus International Wind Competition in 2006 , which has been held annually at the Robert Schumann University in Düsseldorf since then.
