In addition to Fehér's works such as plays and reports, it was also children's books that made her famous in Hungary. She and her husband also wrote several travel guides. Many of these books became known beyond the borders of Hungary. Many of Fehér's works have been published in German, particularly in the GDR and also in the FRG.

The most important work in terms of content is the fantastic novel Oxygénia (dt. Oxygenien ) from 1974, which first appeared in 1977 in German translation only in the GDR . In this book, the author deals with topics such as environmental destruction, class society and exploitation. Although the action is set on an alien planet, these issues are very much related to earthly reality.
