Siegward Bach (* 1929 - January 17, 2016 ) was a German artist .

Life

Siegward Bach came from Hans Zimmer's art school in Breslau . After the Second World War, the Breslau artists came together under Zimmer's leadership in Dresden to form a new Camilla Mayer troupe. In 1948, Bach was the first artist to cross a tightrope on the Zugspitze . At a performance in Dortmund in 1948, he got engaged to his colleague Gisela Lenort on the high wire , which Erich Kästner addressed in a satire.

From 1949 Bach was a member and leading artist of the Munich Zugspitzartisten . The artists performed worldwide with a high wire program. The proceeds from the events were largely used for social purposes. With the crossing of a wire rope stretched over the Höllental (Wetterstein) on a motorcycle, Bach became known worldwide.
