The Siekierkowski Bridge (Polish: Most Siekierkowski ) is a double-hipped cable - stayed bridge in the Ring Expressway, which connects the Warsaw districts of Mokotów and Praga-Południe over the Vistula . It is the second and probably the last bridge of its kind in Warsaw. It was built between 2000 and 2002.
The bridge consists of three lanes in each direction, a 2 m wide safety lane and two hard shoulders for pedestrians and bicycles.
The bridge construction is supported by two H-shaped 90 m high pylons , each holding 54 ropes. The ropes have a bright orange coating to warn the birds before they hit. In the pylons there are service lifts that reach a height of 62 m; there are also ladders.
The decision in favor of the stay cable technology was criticized by household experts because the costs were significantly higher compared to other constructions.
