history

Starting in April 1977, Heinz Sielmann published a magazine with Orbis Verlag entitled Animal World - Everything about animals and the world in which they live . It started as a pure wildlife magazine with popular scientific texts about animals from all over the world as well as large color photo series by internationally renowned animal and nature photographers. Sielmann also attached great importance to nature conservation issues. In September 1977 the title was changed to Sielmanns Tierwelt and from 1978 the magazine was published by Hamburg's Paul Parey Verlag . In addition to wildlife articles, more articles about pets have now been published. In 1981 Sielmanns Tierwelt was merged with Bernhard Grzimek's magazine Das Tier with a print run of 48,000 copies . From July 1981 to August 1982 it was published under the title Grzimeks Tier und Sielmanns Tierwelt , before it appeared from September 1982 under the title Das Tier .
