The Sierra Chica is the easternmost mountain range of the Sierras de Córdoba in central Argentina . It extends about 100 km in a north-south direction - from Charbonier in the north to Alta Gracia in the south, in the west accompanied by the Punilla Valley and in the south-east by the Sierras Chicas region , which is directly connected to the urban area of Córdoba .
The most important elevations are the Uritorco with 1949 m altitude in the higher northern part of the Sierra and the far lower, but known as a lookout point, Cerro Pan de Azúcar ( 1230 m ) in the southern part between Villa Allende and Cosquín in the Punilla valley .
Numerous rivers and streams spring from the mountains, the most important of which are
- the Río Suquía , which forms the outflow of the Lago San Roque reservoir at the southern end of the chain and
- the Río Ceballos , which feeds the La Quebrada reservoir .
