Sierras Chicas

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Sierras Chicas is a densely built-up region in the metropolitan area of the Argentine city of Córdoba . It is located on the slopes of the Sierra Chica mountain range . Many places in the region offer a good tourist infrastructure, but the region has lost its previous position as a destination for mass tourism to the Valle de Punilla . In total, the region has around 130,000 inhabitants, but the population is growing very quickly as many city refugees from Córdoba move here.

The region lies at the interface between the Monte Bush forest and the pampas and has a temperate climate with rainfall in summer.
