The Sierra Nevada College (SNC) is a private College in Incline Village , Washoe County , in the western US state of Nevada near the Lake Tahoe . The college was founded in 1969 as a Liberal Arts College. The college has a strong reputation in environmental sciences, computer science, media technology, English, winter sports management, and teacher training. The college, which is located in the Sierra Nevada, is known for its success in university sports in skiing and snowboarding. Students can obtain a Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree in a four-year course . The teacher training leads up to the Master of Arts .
