The Sierra de los Comechingones is the southernmost mountain range of the Sierras de Córdoba , a mountain range in central Argentina . It runs roughly between the cities of Villa Carlos Paz (Province of Córdoba ) and Villa Mercedes (Province of San Luis ) in a north-south direction and thus has a length of 250 km. The southern part of the Sierra forms the border between the Argentine provinces of Córdoba and San Luis.

The name comes from the Comechingones , an indigenous people now extinct and who used to inhabit central Argentina.

The Sierra de los Comechingones is by far the highest mountain range of the Sierras de Córdoba, its highest point is the Cerro Champaquí with 2,790 m, which in turn is the highest point of the entire Sierra.

On the slopes of the Sierra there are resorts such as Merlo , La Cumbrecita , Yacanto and Achiras .

Other parts of the Sierras de Córdoba are Sierra Chica and Sierra Grande .
